~of uh-ohs and oh wells~

I had recently made a post on my Newgrounds and Pillowfort about getting back into working on my Blogger and how I had stuff I needed to haul over from there to here. I think I jinxed myself saying that cuz I tried accessing it and every time I would get redirected to a DNS-error-assist site with a the tag "Sorry, the page you were looking for does not exist or is not available." I was panicking and came across a reddit post from three years ago that was talking about the situation I was also dealing with. Apparently as of 2021, March 31, vistaprint- the company that currently owns freewebs/ webs -is shutting down the free accounts and the premium accounts would be moved over to the vistaprint site. Well damn.

I felt weirdly emotional cuz I grew up messing around with freewebs a lot around middle and high-school. Of course I made multiple that weren't going anywhere (big ideas but no direction). I made one in 6th grade with a girl called Land of Candreiouse. It was about wolves and foxes, and on top of that, it was sort of a fan knock-off of The Black Blood Alliance by Kay Fedewa and now that I think about it, Warriors by Erin Hunter as well. I remember deleting the site after moving away from the girl (along with not telling her) and I'm not sure why, very dick move of me. Fast-forward to about 2015ish(?) and I pick freewebs back up and make ~*~http://nirvana-realm.webs.com/~*~. I'm not really sure how long I kept up with that before I just stopped posting on there altogether.

~*~And then I made a Blogger in 2022 with intention on hauling my latest freewebs stuff, neglect the sites, come back a year later, and be all panicky and confused :-D~*~

The timing is throwing me off a bit as I write this, free-accounts go down in 2021 but I ported a short-story from there in February 2023. I guess they gave an extension before shutting things down. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I still have the memories, so that's something.

My first blog post mentioned that I just wanted to have my own little corner space on the world-wide-web and that's still true. I don't see myself as a big blogger but growing up, I did enjoy them enough. One of my favorite blogs was by Jhonen Vasquez. I remember reading his blog a lot back in high-school, heck, I just looked it back up for this post (it's been a while lol). Those were always fun to read.

Even with all this bittersweet reminiscing and anxiety, I'm still looking forward to using blogger. I've been working on it for the last couple of days and I'm enjoying it a lot. All the page-links have something on them- even if it's not a lot -and the site's starting to look more put together.
