I've been dealing with a mental funk for the past couple of weeks, but I'm feeling better. I came across the phrase digital minimalism (not sure how overused it is) and wanted to share some of the stuff I've been getting into:
- I want to work on my phone usage. I setup down-time on my iPhone from Monday-Thursday and apps like social media have a 1hr limit and aren't accessible between 10:30pm-7am. My sleep schedule isn't great so I hope this'll help. Stuff like iBooks, Duolingo and Lumosity have all-time access.
- I started looking into what RSS is and got Inoreader- I can dig it. Two blogs I'm looking at are by the Arcade Blogger and Zen Habits.
- I get overwhelmed on social media so I'm getting back on Deviantart. I'm not enjoying it like I use to like when I was younger (2007), but finding artist I use to follow- like Ryanide, FatalSyndrome(he use to be under a different name but this the main one now), DarkSpeeds, etc... -always makes me happy. I still prefer Newgrounds and Pillowfort over DA, but I found myself... tolerating DA over the main social-media platforms. I only get on Twitter (X) on my laptop now- short bursts.
- I'm getting back into listening to podcasts- I found one where Levar Burton reads short-stories. I've been looking at old episodes of Reading Rainbow so this made me very happy.
- Getting back into journaling- my last entry was 2024, January 29.
- Curating the YouTubers I watch- I've been watching a lot of Scott the Woz and Angry Video Game Nerd lately.
- Hobbies: gaming, art, reading, crocheting, etc...
I want to keep making my brain happy :-)
